I always hated when people would just snap a picture when I wasn’t ready or caught the wrong angle. What I even hate more is when people takes pictures of me and it does not look anything like me. I decided to put together a small portfolio of my artwork and show you that you can be comfortable and love photos of yourself again! I'm Ly'Kerria Richardson also known as "TamedCurls," a self taught photographer based in Freehold, New Jersey. I always loved art, whether it was photography, film, graphic design, or just going to museums.What made you turn photography into a business? I had a friend who shoots professionally saw my pictures go viral overnight. After all the re-shares, retweets, and support because of my pictures he mentioned I should turn my hobby into a profession. After careful consideration, staying up long nights, researching lighting and editing, I decided to do such. What is your mission? My mission is to provide a safe and comfortable space for my clients. What was the first thing you photographed? The Sky at a football game! I loved the way the sunset was and I had to capture it. Funny thing is, every year for Christmas until I brought my first DSLR I asked my mother for a camera and I was photographing everything. I love natural photography, traveling, meeting new people, and accepting new challenges! What sessions are my favorite? I L.O.V.E maternity sessions/baby showers but portraits are my go to! I graduated from Brookdale Community College with an Associates in Business Administration and I will be pursing my Bachelor’s in Finance and Photography.

I absolutely love my maternity photos in Freehold, NJ! So professional, very cute work space, excellent vision and fast editing! Thank you so much 😭 I will treasure my photos for a lifetime.

TamedCurls was a pleasure to work with! As I’m not usually comfortable in front of camera’s, she made the experience that much more smoother by coaching me through different poses and having such a graceful, pleasant demeanor. Her vision was to the “T” so there wasn’t much we needed to change in terms of what poses and images we wanted to recreate. I did have one additional idea which she gladly brought to life!
